Payments & Cancellations

Updated 06/25/2015 – Effective August 1, 2015:

Because lessons are my primary source of income and I’ve experienced a lot of cancellations/no-shows the last few weeks, I’ve had to rethink my payment and cancellation policy. I understand that my students & parents have very busy lifestyles so I’ve tried to make these policies as fair as possible.

LESSONS

We require a minimum commitment of ONE-MONTH (either 4 or 5 lessons) for our lessons.

PAYMENT

Payment is due on the 1st of each month.

Students are required to pay for either four or five lessons in advance. This will be determined based on the number of times your scheduled lesson day occurs within the upcoming month.

New Students

New students who join on a date other than the 1st are required to pay for four lessons in advance with any balance remaining deducted from the following month’s lesson fees.

Payment MUST be received at the new student’s first scheduled lesson (or prior) or it will be cancelled.

PAYMENT METHODS

We accept Credit/Debit Card, Check or Cash.  Payment must be received on or before the 1st of the month.  It is preferable that students pay for their upcoming month’s lessons on their last lesson day of the preceding month.

CANCELLATIONS

Rather than a 24-hour cancellation policy, students may cancel their lesson(s) up to three hours prior to their scheduled lesson time HOWEVER they must do a make-up lesson(s) within the same month (preferably the same week) to avoid losing their lesson fee. Students cannot roll over missed lessons into the following month. Any lessons that you fail to make-up within the same month will result in you forfeiting the lesson fee. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please understand that make-up lessons are difficult to schedule, but we will do our best to accommodate.

Notifications under three hours notice or no shows will result in the loss of the lesson fee altogether and no make-up lesson will be allowed.

If a student is taking an extended holiday there is no guarantee their regular timeslot will be available on their return unless a prior arrangement has been agreed upon.

If a student cancels their scheduled lesson three weeks in a row their day and time slot will become open for new students and a new day/time will need to be agreed upon.

Instructor Cancellation

Any cancellations made by the instructor (due to illness or other extenuating circumstances) will be made-up or refunded.
